Day 1 was easy breezy, right. That's how it is, living a healthy life isn't too much of work. A healthy choice here, a conscious decision there and you are set! Now when it comes to fitness, it's not only about toned body, your inner peace is also what matters. True fitness is when your mind, body and soul are in sync and function smoothly.

So for day 2, let's focus on this -- bringing harmony to your inner self and body.

Morning: Continue the habit of drinking warm water with honey and lemon, like day 1. After you are done, find a calm place in your house or go to a garden if you can, and sit down. Don't think about anything, simply take in your surrounding and focus on the chirping of the birds. Breathe in, close your eyes and chant 'OM'. Do this for a few minutes. Open your eyes and focus on your breathing. How do you feel? Tranquil, right! Chanting the mantra, 'OM' is said to bring all the chakras in sync and the vibrations the mantra creates channelises energy towards the abdomen, brain and nasal regions [1], making your feel calm.

Whether it is meditating or exercising, you need energy to carry out any work. Hence, eating right is one of the most important things on your fitness journey.

Breakfast: Pack the most power in your breakfast with this scrumptious Adai. This multi-grain delight is a powerhouse of proteins and fiber.

Lunch: When it comes to nutritious food, follow this thumb rule -- always use fresh and seasonal ingredients. Since carrots are in season, a healthy carrot rice makes for a perfect lunch. Enjoy it with some yogurt raita or a toasted papad.

Snacks: What do you eat when hunger trikes at 5 p.m? Since you are watching what you eat, oats and vegetable soup is perfect to calm your hunger pangs. Since it has oats, it will give you enough energy to stay active till dinner.

Dinner: Have your dinner at least an hour before bedtime, to give your body enough time to digest the food. End your day with steamed veg. manchurian, which you can team with a bowl of brown rice.

Exercises for beginners

Now that we have a healthy meal plan in place, let's focus on burning the calories. It doesn't matter whether you exercise at home or go gymming. Do yoga or love Zumba. What's important is that you exercise.

Home: Too cold to go out for exercising? Try these five simple workouts to get fit at home.

Yoga: You cannot focus on any work or exercise if your mind isn't calm. Try Ujayi pranayam, the most effective way to beat stress and feel peaceful.

Gymming: Day 1 was all about finding a good and sturdy pair of gym shoes, so today, find out what all you should have in your gym wardrobe. You gotta look good as you do an impressive number of crunches!

Sleep well tip

As you lie down on your bed, make a conscious effort to not think about work, chores or projects. Instead think about yourself, your body, your soul. Think about happy, nice thoughts and how good it feels to be at peace. You can also chant the mantra 'Om' as you doze off. If you still can't sleep, inspect your bedroom for these seven common mistakes.
