Malaika Arora's fitness is for the world to see. It is no secret that the actor and model loves to stay fit and active; she exercises every single day. Since she mostly loves to do yoga, Malaika is often seen walking in and out of her yoga studio. On social media, too, she loves to post pictures and videos of herself working out in her studio and at home. The 50-year-old has been seen doing difficult yoga poses from time-to-time.

Considered to be one of Bollywood's fittest celebrities -- who is hailed for her toned physique -- Malaika's fitness routine mostly comprises combination of cardio, weight training, yoga, and Pilates, which she believes helps her maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Recently, the actor was seen performing a headstand, which is not an easy asana to do. On Instagram, her yoga instructor Vanshika Pandey shared a video, in which the mother-of-one was seen acing Sirsasana -- an inverted yoga pose that involves balancing the weight of your body on your head, neck, arms, and wrists. Take a look at the video.

This yoga asana ought to be done in the presence of an expert. And in case you are performing it for the first time, make sure to follow some precautions, so as to avoid injury to the head and spine. Take it slow and know that it may not be possible for you to ace it in the first few attempts itself.

In Malaika's case, however, it seems that she has been doing so for a long time now. Her form and posture were perfect and she even managed to do some other movements while staying in the Sirsasana pose. While she started with the classic headstand, Malaika went on to spread her legs and stretch them on her sides without bending her knees. Then, she also stretched one leg out to the front while keeping the other pointed at the ceiling.

Sirsasana Health Benefits

According to her yoga instructor, Sirsasana has the following health benefits:

  • It can strengthen the upper body -- mostly the shoulders and arms.
  • It increases concentration and focus.
  • It improves the flow of blood to the head and eyes.
  • It improves body balance.
  • It improves digestion.
  • It relieves stress and anxiety.
  • It helps with hair loss.
  • It improves eyesight.
  • It improves brain function.
  • It helps detox the body.
