Fitness day plan #171 – Hydrate yourself well before going for your morning jog

Here is how you can plan your day with healthy recipes and exercises to do after a good run in the morning.

Sometimes you might feel lethargic and low even after a good night s sleep and adequate rest. Days of exercise and good habits can still make you yearn for an extra hour in the bed. If this happens to you know this is very normal and happens to the fittest of person. But don t give in just yet. Instead, get up and get moving. Go for a jog or run. However, before you move out hydrate yourself well and eat the right foods to help you stay energised during the run. Right eating will make all the difference in your routine so don t skip meals or binge eat. Instead, plan your day well so hunger pangs don t get to you.

Breakfast: Bored of having the staple poha, upma every morning? Then try this all new soya upma a protein rich snack which is the best way to kick start your day.

Lunch: Want to eat a heavy meal but concerned about calories and fat? Then this Shahi Kurma Biriyani is right for you. In this recipe milk and cream are replaced with cashew and poppy seeds to give a rich flavour and yet keep it low calorie.

Snack: Snacking on fruits is always a better option that eating oil laden snacks like bhajiyas and vada pav. Heard the saying an apple a day keeps the doctor away. So munch on an apple when 4 pm hunger pangs get the better of you. If you can get green apples better, they are low in calories than red apples and high on fibre.

Dinner: Want a lavish dinner but still worried about calories and your weight? Then try this royal darbari dal which is a mix of toor, moong and rajma along with adequate vegetables and spices added to give it a distinct flavour.

Exercises

You can t ignore exercising. So here is what you can do today to burn more calories.

At home: If you don t have time to go to the gym try these five types of exercises at home to get super fit, no machines involved.

At gym: If you have tried almost all the machines at the gym then try using the Jacob Ladder. It works on your quadriceps, your glutes, your shoulders, and laterals like no other.

Yoga: If you don t have time to workout at home or hit the gym try doing these five easy yoga exercises sitting at your desk.

Sleep: For a good night s sleep try switching off the lights and thinking about happy memories that will help you lull to sleep in no time.
