But sometimes certain factors may hinder our kidneys from functioning optimally. If you do not lead a healthy lifestyle and eat excess junk foods and toxic foods you may suffer from issues like kidney stones or kidney damage or Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Over time, your kidneys will be unable to excrete excess fluids and filter waste from the body which will lead to a build-up of toxins. This may lead to CKD. Note that CKD is also triggered by conditions like hypertension, diabetes and autoimmune disorders. So, you must also take measures to avoid exacerbating the above mentioned health conditions.

Chronic Kidney Disease: 7 Types Of Foods You Must Avoid

Diet and lifestyle has a huge impact on renal health and if you are suffering from a complication condition like Chronic Kidney Disease, you must avoid these 7 foods:

  1. Foods high in potassium content: Avoid eating food which contain high amounts of potassium as it is known to disrupt heart rhythm and impact renal health also.

  3. Sugary diet: Diabetes is a comorbidity for people suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease and thus must avoid taking artificial sugar and sugary foods at all times.
  4. Dairy products: Products that are made out of dairy inevitably contains a very high amount of phosphorus and potassium both of which are very bad for CKD. You must either cut this food from your diet or eat it in strict moderation.
  5. Processed meat: Any type of processed foods will contain high amount of toxins which will take a toll on kidney health. Moreover, processed meat also contains high amounts of potassium, sodium and phosphorus which can make CKD symptoms worse.
  6. Alcohol and caffeine: You must never consume either alcohol or caffeine if you have kidney problems especially CKD. Your kidneys are already not functioning optimally which means that the level of toxins in the body is already high. Moreover, alcohol and caffeine will put a higher strain on the organ and may risk cardiovascular complications in patients. Both alcohol and caffeine are diuretic and can cause acute dehydration which can harm your renal health.
  7. Foods high in sodium content: Never eat foods high in sodium content. Sodium is bad for your health because it increases your blood pressure, it may cause hypertension and it may also cause gout attacks. Hypertension on the other hand can further hamper CKD symptoms.
