When you bleed every month, various minerals and compounds are depleted from the body. The main ingredient being iron. Bleeding depletes the haemoglobin and iron content in the body. Lack of iron in the body affects the supply of oxygen supply to various parts of the This makes you lethargic as your stamina goes for a toss. In severe cases, it can also lead to anaemia. Hence, the only way to deal with it is through a healthy diet rich in iron.
Iron is one of the key nutrients that should be a part of a healthy super diet for periods. A woman of reproductive age group should eat a healthy balanced diet to promote haemoglobin formation in blood and good calcium deposition in bones. Many young girls and women ignore their diet completely and are perpetually anaemic, which further increases the risk of various health complications. Hence, load up your diet with iron-rich foods. In addition to eating iron-rich foods, include fresh fruit and vegetables as these are good sources of many of the vitamins and minerals your body needs during your reproductive years.
