  2. Stay active during your pregnancy and exercise regularly. You can try doing yoga, Pilates, going for walks, a short jog or simply running everyday. Exercise is known to reduce stress in the body thereby also reducing hypertension symptoms.
  3. You should be very careful with your diet. Do not eat anything that will spike your BP. But, because of your pregnancy, you also need to makes sure that you eat all the essential nutrients regularly.
  4. Experts say, pregnant mothers should really focus on their diet as it makes all the difference in the health of their baby as well as them. Eat lots of whole grain food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, lots of calcium based foods, iron and protein. These are all very essential for high blood pressure and also to avoid conditions like preclampsia. If preclampsia is not treated on time, it could strain the baby.
  5. Do not smoke tobacco as it increased risk of hypertension.
