Sticking to a keto diet can be challenging. You need to load up on protein and fat and completely cut down on your carb intake. So this means that fruits are pretty much banned and few vegetables too. Snacking on a keto diet can be even trickier so we got you snacks recommended by fitness expert Sagar Pednekar, Gold s Gym India that fit into your keto guidelines.

Pistachio

Since a keto diet is high in fats, you should be more focused on eating quality mono-unsaturated fats. Pistachios can power you with filling fibre, plant protein and healthy fats while keeping you satisfied with your meals. Pistachios pack around 6g of filling protein just in 20 to 25 pistachios.

Hard-boiled eggs

Apart from providing you with high-quality protein and healthy fats, hard boiled eggs also provide you with vitamin E and choline which is extremely essential for your brain health among others. One hard-boiled egg provides roughly six grams of protein. Stick to two to three hard-boiled eggs in a day to keep your portions in check. Here are 8 foods you need to give up when you are on a keto diet.

Olives

The exotic olives are an excellent source of monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and minerals like zinc and selenium. Olives are an excellent source of dietary fibre and a single cup account for almost 20% of the daily recommended intake. Fibre helps keep your weight in-check by curbing hunger and keeping you full for a longer time. Go for about five to 10 olives for a solid snack.

Kale chips

Kale is an excellent way to keep your carbohydrate intake in check while getting a combination of antioxidants, fibre and even some protein. Just prepare some kale chips and eat them during your snack time. Wash and chop some kale and preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Then spread your kale leaves over a parchment paper and sprinkle some salt and pepper. Place the kale in the oven and roast for five to ten minutes until they are crispy.
