Satiating those after-school hunger pangs in kids can be quite a task. It s not easy to get them to eat healthy snacks. And ask any mom, snack time is usually when kids are the hungriest. Instead of opting for roadside snacks or packaged foods, why not make this quick delicious cheese vada pav at home? This recipe by Chef Ranveer Brar is sure to keep your kids full until dinner time.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp oil
tsp hing
tsp mustard oil
tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp garlic and ginger (crushed)
1 tbsp crushed green chillies
2 sprigs curry leaves
1 onion diced
Salt to taste
tsp turmeric powder
200 gms boiled potatoes, diced
Water just enough to cook the potatoes
2-3 sprigs chopped coriander leaves
100 gms cheddar cheese, diced
I cup besan
I tsp carom seeds
Salt
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder

Method:
1) Heat oil and put mustard seeds and let them splutter. Put cumin seeds and hing. Add 1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste, green chillies, salt, turmeric powder, curry leaves and onions and let the onions cook.
2) Put the boiled potatoes in with water and mix. Cover for some time and let the potatoes cook thoroughly.
3) Mash the potatoes and mix them with coriander leaves.
4) Take some potato and flatten it on your palm. Put small cubes of cheese in the centre and cover with another layer of potatoes. Here are some health benefits of potatoes.

6) In a bowl, mix besan with carom seeds, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Pour some water to make the batter slightly thick.
7) Heat oil in a pan. Dip the round balls in the besan batter and fry it.
8) To serve, place the vadas in a bun, preferably a whole wheat bun. Top it with red chilli powder. Also serve fried green chillies with the cheese vada pav.
