Diet for healthy skin: Getting a healthy-looking skin seems like such a task, wherein one has to buy expensive products from the market, undergo treatments, etc. But, healthy skin -- which is indicative of good overall health -- is dependent on a few simple factors only, most of which have to do with maintaining a proper lifestyle. Experts often say that a glowing skin is a result of internal factors, including diet, which can detox the body, along with some amount of physical activity. A clean diet, along with plenty of hydration, can take care of a lot of skin-related issues. Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar agrees, too.

Diwekar has always championed home-cooked meals over restaurant food, or junk and processed foods. She believes that a healthy gut results in fabulous skin. Taking to Instagram, she mentioned that sleeping on time, eating simple homemade meals, and exercising every day are simple habits that can sustain overall health and provide one with flawless skin.

But, getting into the specifics on skincare, the nutritionist, in her video, talked about three simple foods that one must include in their diet if they are looking to improve the quality of their skin in the long run. These foods are easily-available in the market and are consumed in many Indian houses on an everyday basis. Read on to find out more about them.

Saffron

Saffron, or kesar, is a tasty and healthy spice that can be consumed every night before bedtime. Just take a few strands and put them in the milk before drinking it. Alternatively, it can be soaked in water and consumed the following morning, especially before the start of the menstrual cycle for a clear skin.

Banana

The second food to eat every day, as recommended by the nutritionist in her Instagram video, is a banana. She especially recommends it to women who do not have the time to sit down to eat a proper breakfast, or are usually not in the habit of eating anything heavy in the morning. Since, the body requires something nutritious every morning after a night of fasting, one must consider eating a banana every day. This fruit can keep the stomach and the gut calm, leading to acne- and pimple-free skin.

Cashews

This dry fruit is particularly recommended to people who are under a lot of stress, especially work-related. It can be consumed as a snack during tea-time every day. Cashews can de-stress a person by shrinking their pores. As a result, they have less acne on the face. It is a great food item for those who want to achieve a glowing skin.

Are you consuming these foods every day?
