Do you love your steak and cannot go without it once in a while? You may have heard the ill-effects red meat can have on your health but if you still can't give it up, this diet tip will be handy for you. Whenever you order any red meat dish, make sure you order a side of veggies along with it. Research shows that it can actually help cut down the ill-effects of red meat.

A research published in the Journal of Food Science suggested that the impact of red meat consumption on bowel health could be reduced if it was eaten with fermentable dietary fibre. Fermentable carbohydrates, including most fruits and vegetables, delivered a colonic energy source that produced less harmful by-products than the microbial breakdown of colonic protein for energy. So the next time you order a steak, make sure you eat veggies with it to counter some of its harmful effects.
