Cranberry JuiceCranberry juice is rich in antioxidants and has all it takes to boost immunity. While it does help protect you from an array of health problems, it is most often recommended to prevent urinary tract infections. Such infections refer to the presence of bacteria in the urine exceeding normal levels. These infections can develop in the bladder further causing cystitis in the kidney. Cranberry juice possesses compounds with properties that prevent bacteria from clinging onto the bladder's walls. This ensures that the bacteria are flushed out of the body with urine, thereby preventing the development of a full-blown urinary tract infection. Drinking cranberry juice regularly guards against UTI relapses in middle-aged women and pregnant women, who are prone to such diseases.

Recipe for fresh cranberry juice:

  • Begin by rinsing some cranberries.
  • Boil 3 cups of water.
  • Put the washed cranberries into the boiling pot and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Leave it to steep for 20 minutes.
  • Once done, pour it all into a blender. Blend till it is liquid enough.
  • Pour into a glass; add ice cubes (optional).

Cranberry juice is very effective in its natural and unsweetened form. The tetra pack variety of the juice comes with preservatives and sugars that are best avoided.
