pohaIron deficiency or anemia is quite common in women. Depending on how deficient you are, your doctor may recommend some tablets or ask you to fulfil the requirement with food. If you want to do so, or even prevent iron deficiency, have a bowl of poha for breakfast.

This tip is excellent for lactating and pregnant women as well and even babies can be given softened poha if required. Poha is produced by passing rice through iron rollers, thereby absorbing iron in the process. This makes it a store-house of iron. In order to help improve the absorption of iron, squeeze some lime juice on poha. To make it more nutritious, add vegetables and sprouts in it.
