You know that dark chocolate is good for you but in a world where every food product has added flavour and sugar, it can be smart actually to skip it altogether. However, you do not have to do away with chocolate completely. You can still eat chocolates. Just two cubes of chocolate can be enough to satisfy your cravings. Here are a few quick and easy ways you can get your daily dose of chocolate without adding on too many calories.
If you love fondue, you can quickly make your version of fondue at home. Just melt two cubes of dark chocolate which has at least 60 percent of coca and is made of cocoa butter and not milk fat. Then dip slices of your favourite fruit apples, strawberries, blueberries in the chocolate dip for some more heart-healthy flavanols. You can either enjoy the fondue warm or refrigerate it.
Greek chocolate yoghurt
Try stirring a teaspoon of cocoa powder in Greek yoghurt. Then top it with a fibre-rich cereal and some frozen strawberries for a refreshing afternoon treat. You can also blend all of these ingredients to a smoothie and enjoy it with your breakfast or as a mid-afternoon snack. However, make sure that the cereal you use contains no added sugar. Also, try these chocolate and oats lollipops.
Chocolate trail mix
You can also prepare your own sweet and salty trail mix. Do not worry you do not need to put in a lot of hard work. Just toss air-fried popcorn, dried cranberries and mini dark chocolate chips and enjoy it which watching your favourite show on Netflix.
