You may think that doing only cardio will help you burn all the calories, but strength training can burn twice the calories that cardio can burn in a minute. If you want to lose weight from your belly, then this strength training could be the ideal exercise for you.

We are not asking you to perform those regular boring crunches. Performing bicycle crunches can be an excellent way to target the rectus abdominis and oblique muscles at the same time. It will improve your metabolism and help you burn calories even after performing the exercise.

Steps to perform:

  • Lie flat with your back on the floor and keep your lower back pressed to the ground. Pull your abdomen in.
  • Now put your hands behind your head and lock the fingers of both your hands.
  • Now bring your left knee towards your chest and lift your shoulder blades off the ground simultaneously.
  • Turn your upper body to your left and straighten your right leg out. Make sure that you are moving your rib cage along with your elbows.
  • Now repeat the steps on the other side to complete one repetition. Complete three sets of 15 repetitions of this exercise. Make sure you are breathing normally throughout the exercise.

Tips:

  • Speed is not of utmost importance in this exercise so you can go slow.
  • Also don t force yourself to touch knees with your elbows as it could strain your neck.

Whether you want to tone your core or get rid of your love handles, this no-equipment exercise needs to be a part of your daily exercise regime if you want to get desired results quickly. Also, try these 5 types of crunches for a flat belly.
