You may have heard of doga and beer yoga. And just when you thought that you had heard everything from the legit to the totally outlandish fitness trends out there, we give you a dope on the latest yoga trend goat yoga.
Why should you try goat yoga?
Goat yoga is surprisingly what you may think it is a vinyasa yoga class with a bunch of goats. Oregon-based yogi Lainey Morse started the concept of goat yoga where she introduced silly-sounding yoga classes to help people disconnect and focus on the happy vibes one can only get when one is nuzzled by a baby goat when he or she is in the downward facing dog position. According to Morse, goat yoga can help one overcome anxiety and depression. The innocence of animals is something people want to connect with because it acts as a stress buster for them. It can be pretty difficult to be depressed with adorable goats jumping around you, and it can thus prove to be very healing. You must also try out these hot yoga trends.
How is it done?
The classes are usually conducted amidst nature with a 360-degree view of the mountains in the presence of the animals. The local goats are free to roam around during the outdoor yoga sessions where yogis often cuddle them as they move through the yoga flows. The classes last for at least an hour with plenty of breaks to make sure that everyone has a one-on-one experience with the goat. The goats roam around nibbling on yoga mats, cuddling the participants while the participants stretch and get into the yoga pose. This yoga trend is also making those try yoga who have never thought of giving it an attempt just because of their love for goats. Here are 5 weird and fun fitness workouts.
So would you try doing yoga with the animals?
