Noodles have a bad reputation thanks to Maggi. But you cannot deny that noodles are perhaps one of the most convenient foods that can rescue you from hunger pangs. People are now more careful about the food choices they make and many of them have already made the switch from regular noodles to atta or wheat noodles. Dietician Neha Chandna tells you why wheat noodles can be a healthier option than regular noodles.

Though wheat or atta noodles do not taste great, they can be a healthier choice as they are rich in fibre, which helps in slowing down the absorption of sugar in the blood and does not cause any spike in the blood sugar levels. Fibre also helps regulate digestion, lowers cholesterol and aids weight loss. Atta noodles also contain a little more vitamin B complex, calcium iron and zinc than the regular ones. Vitamin B complex is required for an active immune system and a healthy metabolic rate.

Another healthy option is rice noodles. Although rice noodles contain the same number of calories as wheat noodles, they have lesser preservatives. Eating noodles can also be an excellent way to add more vegetables to your diet. To boost your protein intake, you can just add some shredded chicken to the noodles. Just be conscious of the sauces you add to your noodles as they can increase your calorie intake. Try this healthy noodles with stir-fried vegetables.
