Are ghee-laden sweets better than oil fried ones?

You know the golden rule that you must have everything in moderation, but are you someone who saves their splurges for the week for that one cheat day? Allowing yourself to indulge in your favourite dessert does make you happy. But with festivals like Holi would it be okay to indulge in sweets laden with ghee like laddoos, halwa and gujiyas? Yes, a cheat day can help you stay sane when you are on a strict diet plan, but that does not mean that you go overboard. Whether you are splurging on fried ghee laden gujias or some chocolate cake portion control is the mantra that always works. And if you find yourself going out of control the entire day, then stick to just a cheat meal so that you can enjoy your favourite foods guilt-free.

It is true that ghee can be a healthy part of a weight loss diet. But anything in excess is bad, and it holds true for ghee too, even if you have it on a cheat day. According to HealthifyMe, one katori of moong dal halwa contains as much as 525.6 calories which means you will need at least two days of intense cardio session to burn that. Rather than indulging in massive portions of ghee-laden delicacies just eat a small piece so that you don t load yourself up with calories, and it is much lighter on your tummy. If you are on a diet, you can enjoy these desserts guilt-free.
