High cholesterol is a common complaint among many these days, but apart from controlling your diet and exercising right, there is a natural way to help lower those dreaded numbers -- yoga.

Here are seven yoga poses that can help lower your cholesterol levels.

Sarvangasana

Sarvangasana: Also known as semi-reverse pose, this yoga asana is perfect to help you lower your cholesterol levels. Not only does the inverted position (you are in when in this pose) help improve blood circulation to your head and neck, it also helps improve the working of your endocrine system, digestive tract and helps relieve congestion.

Uttanpadasana: The leg-raised-pose helps improve the functioning of your abdominal muscles. Apart from that, it also strengthens the muscles of your lower back, muscles of your pelvis and abdomen. Uttanpadasana also helps improve the functioning of your digestive system and aids in removing toxins from your body.
