Bones form the framework of our body and help not just to support it, but also in the protection of vital organs, the storage of minerals, creation of red blood cells in bone marrow and in the storage of energy in yellow marrow in the form of lipids and adipose cells. One of the diseases that is caused due to bone loss is osteoporosis. The condition comprises of two words 'osteo' meaning 'bones', 'porosis' which means 'porous'. It is a progressive bone disease that is characterized by a decrease in bone mass and density which can lead to an increased risk of fractures. It is a silent disease, caused by low bone density. Normally not noticed until a woman suffers from a fracture, this disease is commonly seen in post-menopausal women. With about 250 million people in the world affected by this disease. Recent studies have found that a severe deficiency in vitamin D is one of the leading causes of this disease.
According to META healing practitioners, this disease in women has a whole other reason. Here's what you need to know about the disease the META healing way.
META healing and osteoporosis:
In META-healing, bones denote a single unit which mitigates the way things work. When people do not feel complete and cannot function as a part of their families this can lead to bone loss. According to META-Health a disease has an impact on one's mind, brain and organs itself. Every disease is set off by a stressful event/conflict phase that was unexpected and dramatic; the person isolates himself and does not have a plan on how to deal with the situation. This shock is called UDIN. According to META-Health every disease has two phases 'stress' and 'off-stress'. During the stress phase, one feels mentally stressed out, has cold extremities, little appetite and suffers from sleep disturbances. When we resolve the conflict we enter the resolution or 'off stress' phase. This is the period in which mind, brain and the corresponding organ undergo the phase of recovery. The body suddenly feels fatigue, fever, inflammations, infections and pain. The person just wants to rest, so this can also be called the rest phase.
Osteoporosis is always in the stress. Our bones start becoming porous and weak. We typically visit a doctor only when we feel pain, but fail to notice when the bones are getting porous. The story of the bones is always connected to 'self-devaluation conflict'. The brain layer connected to bone issues is medulla and embryonic layer connected to it is mesoderm.
What can trigger off self devaluation conflict?
Comparison and competition are the culprits and can include any situation where the person feels unsupported such as at a time of illness, low grades or failing in school, loss of a job, loss of identity or money, retirement, when we feel we are aging and we feel children may not be able to give the kind of support we are looking for. It can be triggered by a comment like 'your brother is so much better than you, learn from him'.
This can cause loss of self - confidence. If one feels an overall conflict, like feeling devalued on the whole then the entire back will be affected. The right and the left side of the body also have a meaning. The pain will be effected by the person with whom we have a conflict and which is the dominating side of our body. If I cannot hold my partner it could be my right hand which might undergo osteoporosis. The human body has 206 bones. Each bone has its own story. Each bone has different conflicts. So we can say that the skeleton system has just about 206 conflicts.
META-health clearly explains each conflict, in connection to the person. When the UDIN happens one's bones undergo decrease in callus cells and the bone begins to decalcify. If I feel small because I have lost self confidence and my self-esteem, the bone callus becomes small; the bone creates a gap or little holes. This decalcification process is called osteoporosis.
The longer the person feels small the more the loss of the bone. When the person gains his self- confidence again the conflict is resolved and the bone grows stronger. This happens in the off stress/rest phase. With the repair process swelling occurs which then stretches the periosteum (skin growing over the bone) over the bone. After the repair is complete the bone is much stronger than before.
Why does every postmenopausal woman not develop osteoporosis?
Often women find their identity from being a mother. For many years they get so involved in their children's growth and performance and their children's success gives them confidence. After their children have left home a woman often feels no longer needed. With the changes that come with menopause, women just don't feel the same. Their physical, mental and sexual performances are not what they used to be. At this stage in life a woman's self-confidence is very vulnerable. This is the reason for osteoporosis. Hence it is very important that women feel valued.
