Ayurveda is an ancient Indian science of medicine where a person is treated for a particular condition using herbal medicines, massage (also known as Panchakarma) and in some cases even surgery. But what really sets this mode of treatment apart from the rest is the fact that the science classifies humans into three basic categories the vata, pitta and kaphatype in order to gauge the right kind of treatment for a patient. Also known as doshas, these classifications define a person's body type, the kinds of diseases he/she might suffer from and even their personalities. In this video Dr Neelesh Korde, M.D in Ayurvedic medicines defines these three types for you. He also discusses how people with these doshas react to anger, hunger, emotional stress and even the kind of people they are most likely to be compatible with. You can read more about the three doshas.
