Known as a Xanthelasma, this is a fat deposit on your eyelids and is usually not painful and doesn't have any ill effects. What's more, they can be removed by a trained physician. But it is important to pay attention to this symptom -- here's why.
What is it?
It is a deposit of fat on the lids of your eyes and is a sign of high cholesterol levels or lipids in your blood. The colour of the deposit is mainly due to the fact that it contains fat, giving it a yellowish colour. A great indicator that you need to reduce your cholesterol levels, if you pay attention to this symptom, it could save your heart from the ill effects of high cholesterol.
What does it signify
A very good indicator of excessive fat or cholesterol in your blood stream, a xanthelesma does not have any other complications.
