These days I don t have to worry about irregular periods. My gynaecologist once told me that after pregnancy (I have been pregnant twice) many things change. Your periods get less stressful. Even though you might suffer from heavy bleeding, menstrual cramps would bother you less. And yes, from experience I can say that cramps become less severe, but it is not the same for everyone, though. Here are four home remedies to treat irregular periods.
During my teenage years, I experienced severe menstrual cramps and irregular periods. There would be scanty bleeding and too much pain. One thing that helped me during that period was haritaki, an Ayurvedic herb widely used as an important ingredient for Triphala. Here are seven reasons why triphala is good for you.
This remedy was suggested by an Ayurvedic practitioner and so I tried it without much of a doubt. I was asked to soak three to four haritakis in a glass of water overnight and drink it in the morning. Well, after two months of having this water I did get some relief from cramps and my cycle became more regularised. I had haritaki water for all the five days during the periods and also the days when I experienced severe cramps.
Later, when I got interested to know how haritaki actually works, I found after reading research papers that it helps by improving the blood count and it also helps to recover from any type of anaemia. Haemoglobin deficiency is one of the many reasons of painful periods during teens. However, if you are not too sure of using haritaki to treat painful periods then you can also try Triphala, which comes in the powdered form. Just one spoon of Triphala with a glass of water is enough to give you relief from menstrual irregularities. Triphala contains natural antioxidants which play a key role in the removal of various harmful toxins from the body. It detoxifies the liver, purifies the blood and is an effective natural remedy for various health complications. Here is your guide to decode menstrual problems.
However, we would suggest that you use Triphala under doctor s supervision, especially, if you are being treated for conditions like endometriosis or PCOD.
