Many people are unaware of the anti-inflammatory property of aloe vera, which helps in relieving a common cold and cough. This natural remedy is quite effective and safe for use in kids and the aged, who are more prone to coughs and colds, especially during the monsoons. It acts as a potent anti-viral and anti-bacterial agent which prevents the growth of microorganisms causing the disease. The active ingredients responsible for anti-inflammatory are sulphur, cinnamic acid, lupeol, salicylic acid and phenol. These compounds clear the microorganisms from the body and also keep these infections at bay thereby providing quick relief from a cough and cold.
