As summer is already here, grabbing a glass of chilled carbonated beverage is what most people will do to beat the summer heat. Sipping a glass of freshly prepared fruit juice is also a good option, as it provides you with the necessary energy to stay active all day long, but it also increases your overall load of sugar. Well, there’s one drink that is all healthy and keeps you hydrated — Rice kanji. Also Read - 5 benefits of drinking cucumber mint tea

A conventional way to deal with heat stroke and beat the summer heat, rice kanji has always topped the list of healthy drinks. During summer, body loses water and nutrients due to excessive sweating and hence, there is a high risk of suffering from heatstroke and dehydration. As rice kanji contains salt, drinking it in the evening not only replenishes the lost electrolytes and water but also lowers your risk of dehydration. Moreover, it keeps your skin moisturised when outdoors and acts as an excellent source of energy. So if you are feeling dizzy or weak, drinking a glass of rice kanji before heading out might help.

How to prepare it?

All you need to do to make rice kanji at home is add two cups of water to a cup of washed rice and allow it to cook by partially covering it with a lid. As soon as it begins to boil, turn off the flame and strain the liquid into a clean vessel and add a pinch of salt to taste. You can even add a teaspoon of cooked rice to the liquid. Drink it warm to stay hydrated and fight summer heat. It is advisable to drink it every evening after a long day outdoors to beat fatigue and stress.
