If you have trouble sleeping peacefully despite having a tough day at work and being tired to death, there is something wrong with your bedroom. Your bedroom has a lot to do in helping you relax your senses and send you to slumber land. However, that doesn t happen if you don t care much about your bedroom and keep it unclean. Here are seven simple tips for a good night s sleep.

A survey done by the National Sleep Foundation, US in the year 2011 found out that bedroom environment played an important role in helping one sleep better. In fact, people who made their beds, cleaned it and rearranged pillows were reported to be sound sleepers than the ones who ignored these mere tasks. An unclean room and unmade bed makes it difficult for people to get enough sleep [1]. Here are seven ways lack of sleep can affect you.

Well, if you make your bed every night and still find it difficult to fall asleep, try doing these two things to make the transition from being tired to falling asleep easier.

2. Change your bed sheet to white: This is easier than painting your walls pink. As we all know that white is the colour of peace and helps experience tranquillity after a stressed-out day. This is a reason why you sleep so comfortably in your hotel rooms which is decked up with white bed sheets and pillows. Also, the colour white creates a halo like effect in a dark and dimly lit room. The clean effect that is reflected by the white sheets and pillows helps to sleep better as pointed out by the survey conducted by National Sleep Foundation.
