How to deal with panic disorder?

1. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy- Professional help will be better. Focus on thinking and behaviours that are triggering your panic attacks, once you bring them to a realistic light, you will realise that nothing disastrous is going to happen and your panic experience becomes less terrifying.

2. Exposure therapy- When you are afraid of something, you must face it. Here the person is allowed to experience the panic sensations but in a safe and controlled environment. You learn in a healthier way. The exercises help you create sensations similar to panic and with each exposure, you become less & less afraid and control your panic attack.

3. Avoid smoking, alcohol, and caffeine- These things can provoke the panic attack in people.

4. Learn about panic and anxiety- It can help you in distress. Knowing more about anxiety and panic can really be helpful when you are having a panic attack.

5. Learn to control your breathing- Hyperventilation is a common sensation that can occur during a panic attack. So, if you know how to control your breathing during this time, you can calm yourself and you are less likely to create sensations that you fear of.

6. Exercise- Keep yourself moving for 30-40 minutes regularly. This way you can really relieve your anxiety attacks. Any physical activity like swimming, running, walking or dancing can be of help.

7. Enough Sleep- If you are not getting good sleep, it can worsen your anxiety attack. Enough sleep of 7-9 hours can be very helpful for panic disorder.

8. Relaxation techniques- Practices like Yoga, meditation, and muscle relaxation can also be a very good contributor in managing your anxiety issues. Relaxation helps you secrete emotions like joy, fun, and happiness which are good for you.

There is no shame in suffering from these issues; you need to work on them. Take the necessary measures as well as expert advice if required. It can be treated with good therapy and medication.
