The Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has urged people to opt for regular health checkups in a bid to lower the burden of high blood pressure on the Indian healthcare system. According to the Health Ministry of India, one in every 4 Indians has high blood pressure. India is one of the leading countries with huge burden of heart disease in the world. According to the World Health Organization, 220 million Indians are living with high blood pressure approximately and only 12 per cent of them have their high blood pressure under control.

The Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in a post on platform X urged people to take on high blood pressure checkups to ensure a healthy heart. Under the tagline 'Don't delay, get screened,' the Ministry of health underlined the importance of regular health checkups. High blood pressure sometimes can occur without showing any symptoms at all meaning. This means you might never know that you have high blood pressure unless you get yourself checked by a professional medical expert.
