Every time I wear the regular sanitary pads available in the market, I wear a bit of guilt along with it because of my contribution to the non-bio degradable waste in the world. One of the answers to this is reusable cloth pads that are getting popular these days. I wanted to give it a shot. I tried Soch's reusable menstrual pad and I am happy, I wasn't disappointed.

Here's my review about the product:
The pad:
It is entirely made of cloth and comes in bright colours with a snap button at the wings. Before using it, I read the basic guidelines that tell you how to go about it. It is exactly like the regular pad except it is made of cloth, and it has to be kept in place by a button. It is soft and is designed in a way to give you total comfort.
Usage:
You have to use it as your regular pads. Wash it after every use. It is not very difficult to clean. Putting it under running water should do the trick. However, wash it immediately after you take it off. Don't let it dry. You can soak it in water and keep for some time if you don't want to wash it immediately.
Price: The price varies from Rs.175 to Rs. 470 depending on the size.Sizes range from XS+ to L.
Pros:
The product has many pros apart from it being eco-friendly. Here are a few:
1. It is very soft. It doesn't feel like you're wearing a pad. Generally, I get a lot of rashes using the regular pad, but this one didn't make me walk like a penguin.
2. No leakage. The pad is wide enough to avoid leakage.
3. It is easy to wash. I was a little apprehensive about its washing part. I thought it was going to a be a dirty affair. But trust me it wasn't. I left it under the running tap, and most of the stains were gone. No stains left.
4. I found that the pad traps the odour as it soaks the blood well.
5. Doesn't make your butt look bulky. It goes with whatever you wear. I thought since it was made of cloth it will be thick and very apparent on thin trousers and jeggings. Thankfully it wasn't.
Cons:
Not many cons but still here are a few to mention:
1. It takes some time to dry, so you need to have many pads.
2. You need to know your size that will fit you perfectly according to your flow on different days.
3. I have a normal flow so I am a little apprehensive whether the 1 layer of PUL, the leakproof layer of plastic will help women who get a heavy flow. You might want to try it out first.
My verdict:
Since I have medium flow, I didn't face any problem as such, in fact, I found it extra comfortable. One must definitely give it a try!
