Life for Ashish Janiani hasn't been easy. This motivational speaker and corporate trainer kept sick throughout the first 14 years of his life. He used to wet his bed till he was a teenager, which left a deep mental trauma on his psyche. He also suffered from sinusitis and had sever allergy to dust, which made him bleed through his nose. It was especially difficult for him because he lived in a joint family and was the only sick child amongst his siblings and cousins.

Things took a turn for the worse after he visited an ENT doctor to get treated for his allergy. The doctor prescribed a nasal spray, which made the matters worse. Two days after he started using the nasal spray, he choked on some milk he was drinking. He was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with asthma. His lungs were very weak and he could not do much of physical activities. Walking short distances would tire him out. He could not run or play with other children. Even taking the stair within his house was difficult. His father, Prem Kumar Janiani, used to carry him in his arms.

Things started to look better when his grandfather, Kishanchand Janiani, decided to help Ashish. He used to take Ashish to a park every morning at 5 am. He would motivate him to take deep breaths and relax. Initially, it was difficult for Ashish to take deep breaths, but his condition started improving slowly. He could feel a difference within a month of the routine. 6 months into this routine, he had to use his asthma pump only twice. He was showing improvement, and for the first time in a long time, he was feeling healthy.

As he turned 15, he started to take his health and life in general seriously. His aim was to study in the US, so he appeared for his SAT even though he was suffering from chicken pox at that time. He went to USA for his studies and this is where he actually started working towards his fitness. He started working out and participating in cross country runs. In a particular run, he completed 7 miles in 34 minutes. He worked out religiously and started building more muscles, without the use of supplements. He started eating healthy and working out intensely. He says that this also helped him become mentally stronger.

After returning to India, he started his journey as a motivational speaker and corporate trainer. He runs Motivational Diaries and travels across the world. He says his health has not been a concern in years now. He has not suffered an asthma attack and doesn't have any other major health issues. His whole attitude towards life has changed and he makes healthy choices now. He truly believes that you can train your mind and body to start living healthy.
