Well, according to the America Diabetes Association, eating small and healthy meals that contain fruits, whole grains and vegetables evenly spaced out throughout the day is the best way to keep your blood sugar levels in check.

Dr Balaji gives the following tips on eating the right way if you are diabetic.
Do not over eat. If you are going out for a meal, make sure you have a small salad or cup of soup before stepping out.
Choose the foods you eat wisely. Eat foods that are either grilled, baked or barbequed instead of those that are fried.
Drink plenty of water throughout the day as water will help keep you hydrated and allow for proper absorption of the food you eat.
