Cold, cough and sore throat are pretty common during winter, partly because of dipping temperatures and partly because of our weakened immunity during the dull weather. Popping a pill is not the best thing to do because the medicines only relieve you from the symptoms, offering temporary relief without curing the infection. But here's a home remedy that not only offers relief but also helps in treating the cold and improve a sore throat. Here are a few natural remedies that for cough and cold.
Every time I have a sore throat or a cough my mother makes this awesome kadha (decoction) that soothes the irritated throat and also gets rid of cough. She makes the kadha using whole spices, some tulsi leaves, honey and water -- most of the ingredient are easily available in any Indian household. Whole spices like peppercorns, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and tulsi leaves are known to improve immunity and widely used in Ayurveda for treating cold and cough. You can also use jeera for treating a cold. Here's how.
