Hina Khan Cancer: Hina Khan has been keeping a brave front as she fights breast cancer. Earlier this year, the popular television actor was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer about which she had said back then in a statement: "I have been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Despite this challenging diagnosis, I want to reassure everyone that I am doing well. I am strong, determined, and fully committed to overcoming this disease. My treatment has already begun, and I am ready to do everything necessary to emerge from this even stronger." In the past many months, the 37-year-old has touched upon several aspects of her recovery journey, including the loss of hair and other severe-side effects of chemotherapy, and how she has coped with all the pain and loss with a smile on her face. Now, she has opened up about the 'toughest' phase of cancer recovery period.

In an Instagram post, Khan shared a series of photographs in which she sat smiling at the camera in, what appears to be, her balcony, looking at the distance and sipping on a cup of tea. While she appeared optimistic and radiant in a traditional blue Kashmiri shawl that she paired with a white sweater and accessorised with a furry black cap, there was a hint of sadness and exhaustion in her demeanour.

In the long caption accompanying the post, the 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' actor wrote that she has lately been experiencing the toughest phase of her cancer journey. "The last 15-20 days have been the toughest for me in this journey, both physically and mentally. The scars did come and I gave my all to face them without being scared. After all, how can I give in to the unimaginable physical limitations and psychological trauma I had to go through? I fought it, and I still am..."

Khan also mentioned that to endure all that pain and more, she had to "find the balance to continue the cycle of [positivity] with deliberate smiles in the hopes that real joy would naturally follow". "...and it did. That's my message to myself and to all of you out there.. Life doesn't simply go on just by saying it does, we need to make that choice irrespective of the circumstances every day, over and over again. Hope you get a similar strength to fight the battles you face in your life," she concluded the post.

A few days ago, the actor -- who seems to have completed her chemotherapy sessions -- posted a couple of photos in which she walked the corridors of a hospital carrying drainage tubes. Surgical drains are usually put in place after a breast surgery that involves mastectomy, to enable healing. It is often seen that fluid build-up happens in the area from where a breast has been removed. It can cause a lot of discomfort and also lead to a delay in the healing process, unless the fluid is drained.

"Walking towards the brighter side [through] these corridors of healing. One step at a time... Gratitude, gratitude and only gratitude," Khan wrote.
