One medium sized banana contributes to approximately 12% of potassium, 22% of vitamin B6 and 17% of vitamin C, of your total recommended daily intake. Bananas are packed with fibre and pectin, bananas are that perfect constipation antidote. The fibre present in bananas helps soften stools, absorbs water from the surrounding intestine and allows for easy passage of stools. The pectin helps assist bowl motility and peristalsis (passage of digested foods through the stomach) making it easier for you to clear out your stomach. Here are a few more good reasons to add bananas to your diet.
Here is how you can use bananas to relieve constipation:
Tip#1: Crush a banana add some honey to the mix and eat this mixture first thing in the morning or just before you go to bed.
Tip#2: Eat a yellow banana right after your meal or just before you go to bed. This will help clear up your stomach the next morning.
