Easy ways to boost your focus at work when you are super distracted

Follow these tips to improve your performance at work.

With all the packed schedule and workload, it is not surprising that it gets tough to focus. With so many things to do in hand, it becomes a task to manage time and focus. While the best trick is to focus on one particular work at a time, these tips can keep you from getting distracting from the constant pings you get on your phone and your laptop.

Drink plenty of water: Your performance automatically goes down when you are stressed. A study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that dehydration can make you further struggle with your concentration and mental skills [1]. So make sure that you are keeping yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Set the AC at the right temperature: If the AC is continuously on full blast you might find it tough to concentrate. A study published in the journal Building and Environment suggested that productivity can suffer if the employees perceive the temperature as too cold or too hot [2]. Cooler temperatures can provoke a type a type of mental stress and warmer temperature can make you feel drowsy which in turn can make you inefficient. So make sure that the temperature is just right to focus better.

Use the Focus View while working on the Word: If you are using Word, lick on the icon on the lower left corner of your screen that looks like a black box. That is the Focus View icon which eliminates all the background on your screen. This means that you will not see the pings from messengers and all the calendar alert.

De-clutter your desk: A messy workplace can also distract you. So take five minutes of your time to tidy up your desk. Also, make sure that you clean your drawer that you regularly use to beat distraction. These breathing exercises will also help improve your focus and concentration.

Time yourself: Set yourself a time till which you will finish a particular work. You can configure the timer on your phone to adjust the breaks for yourself. When you know that you only have a certain amount of time to complete a task, you will automatically put more focus to finish it. Here are tips to improve your concentration and score well in exams.
