amlaAmla, also known as Indian gooseberry has a number of health benefits, but one of its most powerful properties and least known properties is that it can beat cancer. Studies have shown that the humble green berry is highly effective in preventing the growth of cancerous cells, thereby protecting you from potential danger.

Packed with antioxidant properties, amla naturally fights free radicals that are usually responsible for cancer formation. Research done by the faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Nagasaki University[1] showed that the fruit's extract had the potential to prevent the dreaded disease by helping the body fight the harmful effects of chemicals that are carcinogenic and inhibit the further growth of affected cells. According to the study, it showed maximum action on the cells of the stomach, skin and uterus. Its extract is also known to reduce the harmful effects of radiation and chemotherapy without reducing the beneficial effects of anti-cancer treatments.

Tip: You can eat it in a number of ways, but the best method is to eat it raw. Have a piece of raw amla every day, preferably on an empty stomach. If you do not have access to fresh amla, you can have one tablespoon of its juice (easily available in stores) mixed in a glass of warm water every morning. This will not only help you get rid of constipation woes but will also keep your body and mind healthy.
