Well, the reason is that that the temperature of the testicle, which is the organ that produces sperm is a degree or two lesser than the body temperature. As this is the temperature favourable for sperm count, even a slight increase in the temperature hinders with the production of sperms leading to low sperm count. And this is the reason, why testes (structurally) is located outside the body so that the temperature is lesser than the body temperature. Hence, heating up the testicles by sitting in sauna baths or having a hot water bath, the function of the testes is compromised, putting you at risk of infertility.
