Some girls are blessed because they neither PMS nor go through the period pains. But if your partner or SO falls into the other category, you have to handle her with all the love and care you can. Unless you want to deprive yourself of the wonderful life you have, go ahead and be insensitive. Also, unless you've been a Fear Factor contestant or love to fall in trouble, don't ever say these things to a woman in her periods:

  1. Don't tell her she looks crappy or ill. She is not in her best and putting on kohl or a lip colour and a fancy outfit isn't even on her list. If you can't compliment her out-of-the-bed look, just keep shut. If at all you can, compliment her subtly to make her feel better.
  2. It's good to lighten her mood with some humor. But don't take a dig at her. You do not want to irritate her because she is certainly not in a mood to laugh at herself during these days.
  3. Don't ever complain about the mess in the house or show your OCD at this time. Be normal and don't ask her too many questions. She just needs some attention and pampering. Not a list of your what, how and why.
  4. Don't ask her to go out on a romantic walk with you or out to party. She is obviously not in the mood to jump around. Even worse, don't ask her if she'll be going to the gym today unless you want it to be the end of your relationship.
  5. Don't take status updates of her bleeding. She doesn't want to talk about it and this question is not helping her when she's down.
  6. Is it paining? Why don't you take painkillers? Should we visit the doctor or let me read some remedies on the internet? Avoid such concern. Because, yes it is painful but painkillers are not a solution every day and no one really visits the doctor every month during their periods.
  7. Don't ask her if she feels horny at this time of the month. If she does, she'll express but if she hasn't then don't believe some shitty stuff your guy friends told you and try making out or asking her for a blowjob. It's just too creepy.
  8. Should I come back later when you feel better? Or should I call you later? Do not avoid her at all. Even though she might respond with a "Ya, OK" beware, it's the quiet before the storm. Be a little emotionally supportive. She isn't doing this on purpose.
