Wouldn’t it be great to never have to experience a runny nose, a migraine, an annoying cold, fever or diarrhoea at all? Yet here we are at work, typing away in front of a computer screen, sneezing into a tissue while nursing a headache. Despite our penchant for multitasking and having a higher threshold for pain and discomfort, we women are more prone to illnesses such as migraines, heart diseases, mental health problems, arthritis, STDs, etc. That means we need to be more mindful about our health. Let’s take a leaf out of the books of these real women who rarely fall ill. Also Read - Have a pinch of hing or asafetida daily to keep many diseases away

1. No compromise when it comes to sleep
“I never get called to slumber parties because my friends know I’ll be the first one to hit the bed and the first one to wake up. When I am sleepy, I don’t mind sleeping on the bare ground if I don’t find a bed. I don’t believe in forcing my body to go against its natural urges. So what if I am not fun at slumber parties anymore,” says Shruti. Here’s why you keep awaking from your sleep all the night. 2. Eating on time
“Ever since I turned 25, I started maintaining a food time table. I have my breakfast exactly at 9 and a mid-morning snack, usually a fruit, at 11. Lunch is at 1 and dinner is at 8. I sleep on time. And in five years, I haven’t had a single migraine attack,” says Jayashri. 3. Occasionally indulge in street food
“I don’t stop myself from enjoying a samosa on the street occasionally. I know they are not very hygienic. My mother still scolds me for eating chats and sandwiches from roadside vendors. But I think my health is in much better shape than all my friends who never eat street food. As long as you don’t overdo it, a little bit of roadside food won’t harm anyone,” says Sierra.

4. Yoga and meditation
“Ever since I started doing yoga and meditation, I started handling stress better. My work stopped getting to me and I got tremendous clarity in life. Without all added burden of stress, I can say I am definitely healthier than before,” says Lavina.

5. Practice gratitude
“Being around toxic people and habitual complainers made me hate myself. I too was cribbing constantly. Instead of seeing what I had, I was focusing on my negatives. So I started journaling and focusing on all the positives in my life. Today I am happier, healthier than before,” says Anusha.
