To combat one such viral infection, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MHFW) on Wednesday shared important guidelines to prevent diarrhoea this monsoon season.

According to the MHFW, diarrhoea caused by Rotavirus is a common "serious problem" in children, but it can be prevented with the "right information and care."

  • Ensure to drink only clean water.
  • Religiously wash your hands before eating
  • Always wash your hands after using the restroom.
  • Maintaining a good diet all year round, but particularly during monsoon season, is crucial. For example, adding ORS and coconut water to your diet can aid in rehydration due to their electrolyte content.
