Guinness World Records: 16-year-old Eric Kilburn Jr from Michigan, US has been recognised by Guinness for being the world's only living teen with the largest feet and hands, for which he has gained a spot in the 'Guinness World Records 2025' book. While there is nothing physically wrong with him, the teenager clearly appears to be larger than other people of his age, or even those who are older. In a video shared on Instagram, Guinness documented his height and physique, writing in the accompanying caption: "Largest feet on a living teenager (male) 34.30 cm (13.50 in) by Eric Kilburn Jr." Take a look.

In the video -- a montage of moments from the teenager's life -- he can be heard saying that when he was born, the elderly doctor who helped deliver him said in all his years of delivering babies, he had never seen one with feet and hands as big as Eric's. "I have always known I have bigger feet and hands. I have been taller and bigger than every kid since I was in pre-school," the teenager said, adding that he loves to inspire people to be themselves and accept themselves for who they are, even if society perceives them as 'flawed' and 'imperfect'.
According to guinnessworldrecords.com, Eric loves to spend time with his family and friends. He is an avid sports player who also loves his video games. His American shoe size is 23 (size 22 in the UK), which is 'significantly larger' than the average shoe size for an adult male, which can be anything between 8.5 and 9. His hands are large, too, and every object he holds appears to be diminutive. They measure 23.20 cm (9.13 inches).
While it is not clear as to what could have led to Eric's growth, there are some factors that can lead to a child being born with big hands and feet, and later growing up to be a larger human being than others. Sometimes, genetics plays a significant role in determining hand and foot size. If parents have larger hands and feet, their children are more likely to have them too. Additionally, during pregnancy, the fetus's growth rate and development can impact hand and foot size. Factors like maternal nutrition, health, and exposure to certain substances can influence fetal growth.
It should be noted that certain medical conditions like Sotos syndrome (excessive growth and large hands and feet), Klinefelter syndrome (genetic condition affecting males, often associated with larger hands and feet), pituitary gigantism (caused by excess growth hormone) could influence this.
