Enlightenment is the ultimate goal of human life. It means to bring in the light of the truth. Why do we need to be enlightened? Because we are living in the darkness of ignorance. We believe in lies, myths, superstitions. We need to realize the truth. We are caught in the illusion, unaware of the reality, the truth about our true self, God and this world. Only Enlightenment can lead us to a life of peace and bliss, explains AiR - Atman in Ravi: Happiness Ambassador, Author, Spiritual Mentor and Philanthropist. From childhood, we are conditioned to chase success, fame, and wealth. We are taught to outshine our peers, win and succeed at all costs, and accumulate riches.

And in this relentless pursuit of achievements, we have no time to stop and ask:

  • Why am I born?
  • What is life all about?
  • What is the purpose of existence?
  • Who am I?

When we find answers to these questions, when we realize our true self and the purpose of life, we are enlightened.

The Truth We Must Realize

So, what is the truth that we must realize? The truth is that we are not what we appear to be. We are not the body, mind, and ego, but the Soul - a Spark Of Unique Life, which is a part of the Supreme Immortal Power we call God. In fact, we are all manifestations of God. God is everywhere and in everything.

This is what self-realization and God-realization is all about. This is Enlightenment.

Understanding God And The World

We realize that God is not a person or a saint but a power. Only God is; there is nothing else: Prabhu Satya, Jagat Mithya. This world is a drama, a show, the Leela of God. It is an illusion. In reality, everything is Divine energy. We realize that life is the unfolding of Karma. As we sow, so shall we reap. We learn that death is only a bend to transcend. Only the body dies; we, the Soul, are immortal.

Liberation Through Truth

If we realize the truth, we are liberated from all suffering as we live. And in the moment of death, we are liberated from the Karmic cycle of death and rebirth and become one with God.

To achieve Enlightenment, we need to follow a spiritual path. This involves going on a journey of self-discovery, guided by an enlightened Master or Guru. We must develop qualities such as discipline, detachment, discrimination, and a strong longing for the Divine. It's important to ask questions and explore our findings in order to uncover the truth. We should separate ourselves from worldly pleasures (Bhoga) and instead embrace Yoga, living in harmony with God, the Supreme Immortal Power, and maintaining a constant connection with the Divine.

Through this journey towards Enlightenment, we will come to understand that true happiness and fulfillment do not stem from external achievements or possessions, but rather from within ourselves. We will break free from the cycle of birth and death and merge with the Divine. While the latter may be more difficult, it leads to a life filled with Eternal Peace, Divine Love, and Everlasting Bliss!
