Today our lives revolve around our smartphones. These devices have undeniably made our lives easier and better. But looking at the exponential increase in the use of cellphones, it is important to analyse whether or not the benefits of using them outweigh the associated risks. Well, according to research they do not.
Apart from draining their own batteries, cellphones do tend to drain your happiness. A study recorded daily cellphone use in college going students. With that they also checked the level of satisfaction in them through a survey. The results indicated that students with high frequency of cellphone use reported higher anxiety levels and lower overall satisfaction with life. This could be because people who spend more time with such devices lose engagement with real people and therefore their socialising skills. People who are constantly peering into their phones, often avoid face-to-face communication, which leaves them unhappy and with a sense of loneliness at the end of the day.
So, stop fidgeting with your phone all the time. Meet new people, make new friends, socialise more and be a happy soul.
