Actor Hina Khan has been battling stage 3 breast cancer with a smile on her face. The 36-year-old has been regularly posting health updates on her social media page in a bid to share with her fans and followers everything that is going on in her life. From physical transformations to emotional turmoil, Khan has been candidly detailing her breast cancer journey to destigmatise the illness that affects millions of women around the world every year.
Some time ago, she posted a video in which she was seen letting go of her long hair while undergoing chemotherapy -- a treatment for cancer that causes massive hair loss. Khan had settled for a 'pixie-cut' look. Now, the actor posted another update in which she mentioned that she has shaved off her head entirely.

In a video posted on Instagram, the former Bigg Boss contestant was seen using a trimmer to shave her head. "Here's another attempt to normalise the hardest phase of this journey, aesthetically speaking. Remember ladies, our strength is our patience and calmness. If we put our minds to it, nothing is unattainable," Khan wrote in the caption.
In the video, the actor -- who became a household name following the success of her show 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' -- showed pictures of her fallen strands. "You can win this only if you embrace yourself, accept it. I choose to accept my battle scars," Khan said about her cancer journey, adding that embracing the changes going on in the body can bring someone a step closer to their healing.
Khan also said that she does not want to go through the agonising process of watching her hair fall off every time she runs a finger through them. "It is very stressful and depressing. I do not want to go through that. I want to do whatever is in my control," she said.
Stressing on the importance of mental health, the actor told her followers that the state of mind is a crucial determinant of physical health. "In order to work on your physical health, you have to focus on your mental health," she said, underscoring the importance of maintaining a positive outlook when dealing with a grave illness, such as cancer.
"I really want to work on my mental health and stay positive and happy, so that I do not have to deal with any kind of stress during this journey of mine," the actor said.
She shared advice for all women going through cancer treatment and watching their precious hair fall off: "Just buzz it off. You will still be you. Nothing is going to change, so embrace this new version of yourself."
