It is hard being a celebrity father, despite what us commoners think because it's hard to give your children the time they need because of so many commitments. That however hasn't deterred these celeb fathers who seem to find the time for their children despite having a million things to do. Here are the top 10 celeb fathers desi and videshi:
Hrithik Roshan
The 40-year-old might have just gone through a messy separation with his wife Sussanne but there's no denying that Krrish 3 actor is a great superhero dad (although not a great superhero onscreen). All his press interactions seem to indicate that he loves his children deeply despite their mother Sussanne likely to get custody. Only recently he Tweeted a picture of Hrehaan and Hredaan at Disneyland with Cinderella's castle in the background.
Will Smith
One of Hollywood's most talented actors, Will Smith is also an amazing father who has three children - Jaden Smith, Willow Smith and Trey Smith with wife Jada Pinkett Smith. A survey by Shaadi.com found that people considered him amongst the most inspirational international fathers, and his bond with his children certainly shows on and off-screen. In fact, his onscreen bond with son Jaden in The Pursuit of Happyness made it to our most inspirational onscreen fathers' lists as well!
Shah Rukh Khan
Bollywood's King Khan is a loving father who bonds a lot with all his children. His love for his children is apparent and the incident at the Wankhede Stadium allegedly transpired because the security guard pushed SRK's children. Discussing parenthood, he told TOI: 'I have always thought of my children as my best friends. This, in no way, gives them any special place in my heart. But somehow, I am childish in my heart. I am oversensitive, playful and happy with the trivia of life. If I had a choice between discussing a big business proposition versus playing PS4 with my children, I would choose the latter. I love listening to their stories. I, very early on decided that because I am in that position that I can give them whatever they desire, I will give them so much that by the age of 10, all that they will desire is to fulfil their dreams.'
Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt has two adopted children with partner Angelina Jolie and also has a daughter Shiloh Nouvel in 2006 and twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline who were born in 2008. And Pitt absolutely loves fatherhood. He was quoted as saying: '[Fatherhood] is everything.... The hardest job in the world, the most rewarding job in the world.... We put in long days. And to go home and have dinner with your kids, and have to discipline one of them who's out of line, and still have the energy for that is.... I can't explain the fulfilment of that, but it is everything. It's chaos at times, but there's such joy in the house. I look and there's our boy from Vietnam and our daughter from Ethiopia, and our girl was born in Namibia, and our son is from Cambodia, and they're brothers and sisters, man. They're brothers and sisters and it's a sight for elation. We have the capability to give a child a home, and let me tell you it's selfish, too, because the reward has been extraordinary."
Roger Federer
One of the greatest tennis players to every grace the big stage, Monsieur Federer has two sets of twins (two boys and two girls) and is a loving father who doesn't mind changing the diapers or doing anything for his children, even if it means losing sleep. He said: 'Having twin girls is a life changer - that's for sure. But I like getting up and changing diapers. It's the things you do.'
Although the 17-time Grand Slam winner is extremely patient on and off-the-court, he's also prone to losing his temper: He said: 'I'm as patient a father as I am on the tennis court. It takes a lot for me to get really upset, but sometimes kids can get you really cross if they really keep bugging you.'
Amitabh Bachchan
The grand old man of Indian cinema has been a loving father to his children Shweta and Abhishek. On Abhishek's 38th birthday he wrote on his blog: 'Abhishek just turned 38...! It is obvious cliche to start speaking suddenly of the day and moment he was born and what we were up to, of how he behaved when young, of his growing up, his days then to now, little incidents of nostalgic flavour. Now it is best to be with him as an adult, a friend a confidante, a support, a companion... That is best what occurs to me, and shall ever remain .'
Barack Obama
The world's most powerful man is a doting father who is often spotted having a laugh with his two daughters Malia and Sasha (it's strange that US presidents don't have male children, the last male child to reside in the White House was George W Bush when Bush Senior was President). In fact, Obama even joked before his re-election that he was running for presidentship because he wanted security guards around his girls when they got to dating age. He said: And they're not very good at lying. We joke sometimes about how Malia's getting to the age now, and boys start calling and, you know, sort of, I always talk about how one of the main incentives for running again was continuing Secret Service protection to have men with guns around at all times...'
Sachin Tendulkar
The greatest batsman to ever play the game might have destroyed bowlers around the world but at home he's a loving father and family man. When he became a father, he said fatherhood added a dimension to his life that was special. 'It has made life more charming for me and is a special feeling I cannot put into words.' More recently, when his son Arjun started to make a name for himself in Mumbai's junior leagues, Tendulkar warned the press to stay away from his son.
'As a father, I will say leave Arjun Tendulkar alone,' said Tendulkar. 'I will say let him enjoy the cricket, don't burden him with expectations. If I had such pressure on me, I would have ended up with a pen in my hands because my father was a literature professor. Arjun is madly in love with cricket. That's what matters. I don't want to put pressure on him whether he performs or not. You shouldn't also put pressure on him either. You need to leave a young player free so he's able to perform.'
David Beckham
The world's most well-known footballer is a loving father to his three sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz and daughter Harper. Beckham is an absolutely loving father who is often spotted with his children at football games though he is shocked about his younger sons being Arsenal fans instead of following Manchester United. 'I adore children. I love the fact that our children are part of both of us, it's one of the most amazing things ever. I love being a stay-at-home Dad. I've been lucky, I've always been able to take the boys to school in the morning, and pick them up and make them dinner and things like that. I'm in the room with Harper trying to pick out outfits and anything which I pick out, which I think looks great, she puts back in.'
Aamir Khan
Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist is a very, very proud father and has three children Junaid, Ira (from his previous marriage) and Azad Rao Khan. The actor is a loving father and is often spotted with his son Junaid who's quite taller than him! He was also overjoyed about becoming a father again when the couple had Azad Rao and loves to play with the newborn. He is quoted as saying: 'It is a great joy to be a father. Both Kiran and I are really overjoyed about the baby being born. It`s a real joy... it`s a miracle. A baby being born is like a miracle and nothing comes close to it. I tickle up his little toes and then snuggle him... since he is very small so he does not know who I am. But he knows that somebody comes and troubles him every day for two-three hours.'
