Pec or pectoralis implants help increase the size of your pectoral muscles. This procedure involves enlarging the chest muscles and helps rectify any chest deformity with silicone implants, placed underneath similar to breast implants. Measurements are taken as per the chest size for the implants or are even customized for the kind of look you may prefer. The silicone used is flexible, durable and soft which helps fit in well with the skin in that area. These implants do not hinder the muscle functioning in anyway. These are useful to contour the male body and it enhances the chest muscles for a bulkier look.
Difference between pec implants and breast implants
The pectoral surgery differs in the size of the silicone implants offered and the shape. Pectoral implants vary in size between 150 cc to 235 cc as compared to chest implants which vary anywhere between 250 cc to 335 cc and are rounder, fuller and softer. Pectoral implants are much firmer and have a more square-like shape.
Who is it meant for?
For those who want broader chests and are unable to achieve them with heavy workouts and exercises, usually (body builders) prefer this kind of an implant. This surgery also helps rectify a 'pigeon chest' to achieve a more desirable appearance. People who have suffered from a chest deformity (asymmetry, congenital or traumatic deformities) by birth could also look into this option for greater aesthetic appeal.
