It s the time of the year again when men across the world start cultivating a moustache and growing a beard. But as soon as you start to bask in compliments because of your stubble, the horror begins. You wear a black T-shirt one day and scratch your beard and notice all the dandruff. At first, you may dismiss it but as soon as you scratch again the flakes return. Beard dandruff is more grain-like and less of a flake. A mite on the face causes beard dandruff

So you might get a little grossed out now. The microscopic face mites known as Demodex folliculorum crawling around in your hair follicles especially your cheeks causes the dandruff. It is basically a type of mite that lives on your skin and some of you may be more allergic to the mites than others. Seborrheic dermatitis is the clinical condition behind beard dandruff and it is more common than you may think.
