I ve heard and read about serums on TV and in magazines and I want to know more about them. Are they good for the skin? Should I start using one?
Explains Dr Jaishree Sharad in her book Skin Talks that serums are essentially products that are water-based and contain vitamins, antioxidants, anti-ageing ingredients and more. But they are very light on the skin and do not really moisturise your skin.
Who should use serums?
According to Dr. Jaishree, people who have oily or acne-prone skin should use serums as they have a non-greasy formula that is easily absorbed into the skin.
She also advises using about 2-4 drops for the whole face and applying it when your face is dry. You can use it before make-up. But if you have dry or mature skin, you should opt for thick moisturisers and creams instead of serums.
