Hair loss is a big worry for most men. As they start ageing, the hair follicles lose their strength and slowly and steadily, you start losing hair and suffer from a condition called male pattern baldness. It is a genetic and hereditary condition and is also associated with male sex hormone called DHT. There are various other causes of baldness too, like nutritional deficiencies (lack of iron, vitamins and proteins in the diet). Conditions like diabetes, an over-active thyroid gland and stress can lead to hair loss.
Hair loss at a young age can be embarrassing and hence many men resort to using products that guarantee preventing hair loss and also assure hair growth. However, most of these products don't work and most men only end up wasting time and money.
Healthy lifestyle choices and a proper treatment for baldness can help cure it. The treatment includes using anti-male hormones or DHT blockers. These blockers prevent thinning of hair and slow down the process of hair fall. But you don't need to take these pills. Pumpkin seed oil is the natural substitute you can resort to it. Pumpkin seed oil inhibits the formation of DHT that in turn prevents hair loss. A study also claimed that pumpkin seed oil not only prevents hair loss but also boosts hair growth. [1]
How to use it:
Apply this oil on your scalp once or twice a week. Keep it overnight and wash it off the next day. Pumpkin seed oil works best when taken as a dietary supplement. It is essential to consult a doctor before using supplements.
