Let s admit it, we usually don t care too much about our feet as much as skin and hair. And the results of our ignorance shows during winters when lack of moisture makes the heels of the feet cracked. Even then it is not too late to get started with foot care. If you can spend just a few minutes massaging your feet, they might heal faster and look gorgeous too. Yes, you can make a style statement with those gorgeous feet. But to get there, first, you have to make sure your cracked heels recover. While there are numerous foot creams that you can choose from in the supermarket, today I am going to share a simple home remedy which is cheap and quite effective. However, there are other home remedies for cracked heels that you can try, like salt water solution or a sugar and olive oil, scrub, etc.
Throughout my childhood, in Kolkata, I have seen my grandmother, mother and other aunts use this remedy to get relief from cracked heels. This is a widely used remedy in West Bengal and almost everyone in Kolkata prepares this foot cream at home during winters. Here is how to makes it:
You need beeswax, coconut oil and glycerine all in equal amounts to make this cream.
In low heat over a gas stove, in a pan, add the beeswax and allow it to melt. Once it melts, add glycerine and stir well. Once the two ingredients mix well, add coconut oil to this mixture and keep stirring.
Make sure that there are no lumps formed while stirring.
Once the ingredients are mixed thoroughly take the pan off the flame and allow it to cool.
Once cooled pour it in a bottle, preferably a glass bottle which has a wide opening. This concoction solidifies at room temperature. So you need to store it in a bottle which has a wide opening.
To apply, scoop out a little bit of this cream and rub it into your palm. The warmth of your palms melts the cream and then you can apply it all over your feet and the soles.
You can use it in place of your heavy duty moisturiser too.
Just 50 ml of each ingredient will give you a little less than 150 ml of this concoction which can last you for around two months.
Before applying this cream make sure you wash your feet and use a pumice stone to scrub the dead cells off the heels.
