You must have probably tried the pumpkin spice latte but why stop at just lattes when you can whip nourishing pumpkin spice body butter at home? This DIY body butter by beauty blogger Aruradha Goswami combines shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut and almond oil to moisturise dry skin. Cocoa butter is an excellent ingredient to lighten your skin and make your skin glow. Shea butter is considered to be one of the best natural moisturisers. It contains the same compounds or saponifiable fractions present in the sebaceous glands of our skin and hence applying shea butter on the skin moisturises it as effectively as the natural moisturising glands.A few essential oils like vanilla, cinnamon and clove are also added to this recipe to boost circulation and soothe the muscles. Clove oil is rich is antioxidants that will protect your skin from free-radical damage. Just to clear your confusion, there is no pumpkin in pumpkin spice body butter. Here are 7 ways shea butter gives you radiant skin and healthy hair.

To prepare this body butter, you will need,

  • cup shea butter
  • cup cocoa butter
  • cup coconut oil
  • cup almond oil
  • 10 drops clove bud essential oil
  • 10 drops vanilla essential oil
  • 10 drops cinnamon essential oil

Method of preparation:

  • Just add the shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil and almond oil to a glass bowl and set the bowl over a pan of boiling water till the butter melts. It usually takes about five to ten minutes for the butter to melt. Then stir the mixture well.
  • Let the mixture cool before you add the essential oils. Add 10 drops of clove, vanilla and cinnamon essential oils each.
  • Place the mixture in a refrigerator and let it sit for at least an hour.
  • Once you take the mixture out from the refrigerator mix it well with a beater until fluffy.
